Martin Edwards
Martin is Senior Partner in Novo Ventures, Novo A/S. Martin joined Novo A/S in 2003 working out of London. He is a director of Serentis Ltd, Logical Therapeutics Inc, Tarsa Inc, Funxional Therapeutics Ltd and Vantia Therapeutics Ltd, as well as chairman of the board of directors of Symphogen A/S. He also regularly teaches at the Scandinavian International Management Institute, where he is an adjunct professor. From 1998-2003 he was CEO of ReNeuron Holdings taking that company public in 2000 and raising a total of £25m in equity and debt finance. From 1994-1998 he was Corporate VP and Head of Drug Development for Novo Nordisk A/S where he was responsible for all aspects of pre-clinical and clinical drug development.
Previously, he worked for 6 years in the USA first as VP Pharmacology and Medical Affairs of ZymoGenetics, Inc. in Seattle and then as Senior VP for Medical Affairs at Novo Nordisk in Princeton N.J. Martin graduated from Manchester University with degrees in physiology and medicine. He subsequently trained in general medicine, family practice and pharmaceutical medicine and holds several post graduate medical diplomas awarded by the London Royal Colleges. He also holds an MBA from Warwick University.
